Note: All data reflect patients under 18 years of age. Inpatient stays and days exclude mental health and substance abuse (Major Diagnostic Categories 19 and 20), obstetrics (Major Diagnostic Category 14), and normal newborn (DRG 795) related hospital stays.
Note: NICU inpatient stays (and the corresponding days) are classified by the highest nursery level charges associated with the stay. For example, a stay with Level III and Level II charges is classified as a Level III stay. “ICU <1 Year Old” includes stays for patients less than 1 year old with ICU charges but no NICU charges.
